Apr 2017   Marcel V.   Marcel is a 20 year old man from Boston who was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma.  We were contacted by Marcel's social worker who said she found L.I.F.E. by Googling organizations to find anyone that could help him. He has been in and out of hospitals with sepsis, neutropenia, and anemia from his treatment. He was diagnosed 2 years ago mainly in his pelvis area, went onto treatment and was in and out of the hospital with sepsis and neutropenia from his treatment, and anemia.  As of now his tumor is stable and has 4 cycles of chemotherapy left, but his treatment is palliative in intent, and his prognosis is about a year.  Marcel's birthday is later this month, and would like to take one final trip to visit his best friend in New Hampshire.  We happily not only helped Marcel take this trip, but took care of some other expenses as well.
Mar 2017   Rebecca L.   In the spring of 2017, Rebecca from St. Louis, MO was diagnosed with breast cancer and went on to receive 18 rounds of treatment.  Her husband, Ross, is a patient care technician at a level 1 ICU and selflessly takes care of critically ill patients on a daily basis.  L.I.F.E. stepped in to assist them with copays and medical expenses to help ease the financial burden. Rebecca Lane
Nov 2016   Tyler T.   When we were contacted by Tyler's social worker, she told us that "he doesn't have any energy. Doesn't run a lot, went fishing yesterday with his Dad. They travel to Tuscon every week and it's a 4 hour trip. They are Tuesday night until Friday evening for the first week each cycle. Treatment starts Wednesday morning and it's a full day, so they just stay there for the week. And then for weeks 1 and 2, they are just there for one day. They stay at the Ronald McDonald house when they go. Gas is about $100/week. Follow-up will be weekly for the first 1-2 months, and then every other week or once a month after that. She was SOO grateful that we offered to help. They are super strapped for cash.  She's applied to help from dozens of organizations over the last 2 months and hasn't received a response from any of them, until ours. His Mom and Dad are separated so send the check to his Mom's address in Taylor."  L.I.F.E. was able to help them with copays and travel expenses to help ease the financial burden. Tyler T
